UMTS in a Box
The Nash Technologies TestCell enables cost-effective testing of user equipment, both during integration of the software to the chipset, but also in later stages with in already integrated UE. It addresses the gap between expensive standard protocol testers and field testing by providing a commercial layer1 environment with simulated higher layers. Those higher layers are completely written in Perl, thereby enabling users to expand and customize the TestCell to their own needs. Of course, the UMTS cell is highly configurable to allow reproduction of observed and traced field scenarios.
The Nash Technologies TestCell can be integrated to a test management system and can be operated either as a master or a slave in a more complex test setup. It is possible to control external test equipment from the scripts to allow flexible integrated test setups.
The Nash Technologies TestCell is also a perfect vehicle for research applications where a small, but highly configurable UMTS network is required. It not only provides such a network, it also allows the implementation of non-standard features and behavior in the upper layers.
As the Nash Technologies TestCell integrates seamlessly with the Nash Technologies Diagnostic Air Interface Monitor (DAIM), it allows unprecedented insight into the air interface behavior during all testing activities.
